Pilates is named for its creator, Joseph Pilates, who developed the original exercises in the 1920s. A Pilates routine generally includes exercises that promote core control and stability, muscle control and endurance, including exercises for balanced flexibility and strength.
Restorative Pilates is Movement’s own individualized and specific emphasis on correcting dysfunctional human movement patterns and postures that contribute to pain and/or limited functioning. It is simply much more than general exercise. Restorative Pilates benefits absolute beginners and will challenge the best of athletes and everyone in between. Golfers, skiers, tennis players, runners, cyclists, and weekend warriors have all reported sport performance gains.
Movement is the only local clinic or studio with renowned Body Arts and Science International (BASI) equipment. We also utilize an assortment of other unique Pilates equipment. All appointments are private, one-on-one sessions which are tailored to your individualized goals and needs.
Restorative Pilates is offered solely by Dr. Megan Wacker, PT. She is both a BASI Qualified Pilates Instructor and has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. This affords a unique approach especially for more complex clients. Megan has 15+ years of clinical experience.
